Seeking inspiration with Eucalyptus essential oil
Recently I have been doing the work (although it doesn’t feel like work) of the medicine woman mentorship with Emma Cannon. I wake before the rest of the house, sneak downstairs for a cup of tea and get snuggled in the pre dawn silence with my medicine woman cards and a notebook.
These cards hold beautiful artwork depicting the 50 medicine women. I am exploring the metal element just now as this corresponds with autumn. As I study each card with light and shadow aspects, I usually instinctively know which essential oil to pair with each medicine woman. Sometimes more than one oil springs to mind and I take to the books and work with the energy of oils to find the right pairing.
This week it has been easy. The medicine woman of INSPIRATION came forth. Inspiration can have more than one meaning for us. Inspiration; a breath in, an inhalation. Or, a spark of an idea that sings to our soul, divine guidance. Eucalyptus is here to support inspiration in both senses of the word.
Eucalyptus amplifies the energy of the in breath, opening and expanding the lungs. In doing so it creates a feeling of expansion and vitality for the mind. Providing the cool, calm, clarity needed for inspiration (or divine guidance) to strike. Eucalyptus essential oil will also strengthen the exhalation giving power to your intentions with each out breath. This oil helps us to get the most power from every breath.
Find a quiet space to sit in solitude. Place a drop of eucalyptus oil in your hands, cup your hands over your nose and take a deep inhalation. Affirm to yourself “I deepen my breath and nourish myself”.
You can also make your own meditation spray to clear the energy in your meditation space by adding 8 drops of eucalyptus (for awareness and expansion), 8 drops of frankincense (for seeking truths) and 4 drops of patchouli (to ground you into the physical realm) to a 50ml spray bottle with a teaspoon of witch hazel and cooled boiled water. Spritz this in your meditation space before settling into your practice. You could also use this spray if you are a yoga teacher or energy healer to clear your practice space.
We will be working with Eucalyptus in the study group on the 2nd November 2022. If you feel called to go deeper with your essential oils use then please join us. Click on the store tab to register to join.
