Menstrual Cycle Magic (Part 3)
Welcome back to this 4 part series walking you through the energetics of your menstrual cycle. If you haven't read part one and two yet I would recommend you go and do that here in the journal page of my website before continuing with this part. It will all make much more sense.
This time we are exploring your inner landscape as you transition into your inner autumn. This is the time after ovulation and leading up to your bleed. You premenstrual time. From an energetic perspective you may notice a shift in energy just as we notice the first chill in the air as summer gives way to autumn.
The moon phase for this time is the waning moon and the archetype is The Enchantress. The Enchantress is our inner medicine woman. She wants us to slow down and nurture ourselves. You may feel creative and be brimming with ideas during this phase. Get these ideas written down and saved for when you have your energy rising again in spring and summer.
The gift of this phase is discernment (having a heightened bullshit detector). Often this is why we may come across as irritable or angry during this phase but maybe we are just trying to get into alignment and discerning what we will and won’t accept.
Inner autumn is a time for quiet reflection. Preparing for the retreat time of your bleed. It is a good time to set boundaries, initiate self care activities and ask for help. If you have your own business this may be a time to do less dynamic tasks and more reflective administrative duties.
Your exercise during this phase should be less intensive. You could enjoy walking or yoga. You might feel drawn to meditation and journaling activities more in your autumn phase.
Just as in nature the trees shed their leaves, think about what you can release at this phase in your cycle. Trying to forge ahead at the same pace as your inner spring and summer during this phase can be a contributing factor to feeling out of alignment which may manifest in increased premenstrual symptoms. By tracking your cycle and honouring this time for slowing down and turning inwards you may notice your mood and premenstrual symptoms are lighter.
Through awareness comes power and once you have awareness of your inner landscape through cycle tracking and cycle syncing there is a new ease and flow which permeates your being.
